When organising a venue for a meeting with an interstate colleague, I decided to branch out of my usual coffee favourites and suggest somewhere new. We wanted to be near the beach but somewhere that would be quiet enough to discuss work. Vans Cafe in Cottesloe seemed to fit the bill after reading online reviews, and we were not disappointed.
Vans has prided themselves on consistently good coffee, made by highly trained, passionate baristas. Both D and I mentioned that our coffees were made really well – with strong coffee beans and creamy milk. Perfection in a cup!
For our breakfasts, D and I ordered the waitresses favourite – whole crushed avocado on organic danish rye, fresh basil, feta, tomato, vincotto, lemon oil (v) ($21) with a poached egg ($4). This dish was healthy but so delicious, and even though it was a little pricey, I would definitely order this again.
I loved that Vans Cafe menu had a variety of interesting breakfast items, including spicy indonesian fried eggs with coriander, lap cheong sausage, sambal, crispy shallots and the cardamom spiced rice with smoked kippers, poached eggs, coriander, lime & yoghurt.
D and I loved our breakfast and coffees at Vans Cafe and would definitely return again.
